What it is
Many Korean employers ask new staff for a pre-employment health certificate (채용신체검사서). Hospitals and public health centres issue it after a basic check: height and weight, eyesight, hearing, blood pressure, a chest X-ray and some blood and urine tests.
What the price includes
HIRA lists the fee for the certificate. Some hospitals include the basic tests in it; others charge extra tests (and drug or HIV tests that some visa categories require) separately — ask before you go.
Health insurance
The certificate is not covered by insurance.

Questions
Is this the same as the food-handler health certificate (보건증)?
No. The food-handler certificate (건강진단결과서, often called 보건증) is a different document based on a few infectious-disease tests, required for jobs handling food. Check which one your employer or school asks for.

- Prices are what hospitals report, not quotes. Always ask the hospital for a written estimate.
