How to read these prices

Every Korean hospital must report what it charges for treatments that National Health Insurance does not cover (비급여, bigeubyeo). The Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA) publishes them, and ClinicSum turns the open data into English pages. Each page shows the median price — the middle hospital — plus the average, the lowest and the highest, by kind of hospital and by region.

The open data covers hospitals, not small neighbourhood clinics (의원). To check one particular clinic, follow our step-by-step guide to HIRA’s search. New to the Korean system? Start with how medical prices work in Korea.

ClinicSum does not rank or recommend hospitals and is not medical advice.
