What it is
In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a series of steps: egg retrieval, fertilisation in the lab (conventional IVF or ICSI), embryo culture, transfer, and often freezing spare embryos. HIRA lists each step separately, so this page shows the price of each step rather than one package.
What the price includes
Each row is one step. Medication for ovarian stimulation, blood tests and scans are separate. A typical fresh cycle includes retrieval, fertilisation, culture and transfer.
Health insurance
Korea’s National Health Insurance covers a set number of IVF cycles for insured patients, with co-payments. The prices here apply when a step is not covered — for example beyond the covered number of cycles, or for people without Korean insurance.

Questions
What is ICSI?
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection: one sperm is injected directly into each egg. It is used when sperm quality is low or earlier IVF did not fertilise, and costs more than conventional IVF.
Why is AMH on this page?
The AMH blood test estimates how many eggs the ovaries have left. Doctors use it to plan stimulation, so it is often the first test in a fertility work-up.
